Time and Location:
Meet at 8am in the parking lot of the Woodlawn WalMart - near CIBC (Guelph)
OR
Meet at 8am at the Rockmosa community Centre, Rockwood - 110 Rockmosa Dr.
Departure time: 8:15 for both locations - When registering, please make your choice of the carpool you'll be joining, or... if you plan to join the hike at the trailhead then choose that option when registering for this hike.
There is a parking fee at Mono Cliffs so please bring cash to help pay the fee.
If you are meeting us at the trailhead (the parking lot at Mono Cliffs), you will need to make your own reservation for Ontario Parks.
Join us to explore the trails within the park - there are a few steep hills and the trails are uneven and muddy in areas. We will see bedrock outliers, a glacial spillway, ponds, streams, a kettle lake and a lookout point. The Niagara Escarpment can be seen as the cliffs rise up 30m above the valley floor. We will follow the Carriage-Spillway-Lookout-Clifftop-Bruce Trails. We will eat lunch at the Lookout Point.
Distance: about 13km, moderate pace, Level 2 (challenging sections)
What to bring: closed toe hiking shoes/boots, bug spray, water, snacks and lunch, pole(s), dress for the weather, sunscreen
