OUR CORE OBJECTIVES

By joining the GHTC you are implying agreement with the Club's core objectives as described in our constitution:

to stimulate interest in hiking,
to establish and maintain trails for hiking,
to encourage awareness of the natural environment, and,
to promote the conservation of the environment.

TRAIL USERS' CODE

By becoming a member you will be asked to agree to the following Trail Users' Code; please review as it is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with the code and commit to practicing these ethical procedures.

Hike only along marked routes; do not take shortcuts.
Obey all signage.
Use the stiles; do not climb fences.
Walk around a farmer’s cultivated field and avoid their livestock.
Where dogs are permitted, manage their behaviour and safety.
Keep the trail clean by carrying out all litter (incl. stoop & scoop).
Refrain from camping or building fires.
Protect nature by leaving flowers, plants, trees, and wildlife as they are.
Leave only footprints and take nothing but pictures.

When you sign up to become a Member, you will receive a Charitable Tax Receipt Jan of the following year. Membership fees help support our Club activities which include: Trail Maintenance, Badges for Special Hikes, Liability Insurance, Newsletter and Website production.

Rolling Membership Format

Effective May 31 2025, GHTC changed the membership terms model to a rolling 12-month format for 1 year memberships and rolling 60-month for 5 year members.

Under our new terms model, a one year membership will expire 1 year from application date and a five year membership will expire 5 years from application date.

You will be asked to agree to the Trail Users' Code; please read it first since it is required to become a member.

For payment online using a credit card, please complete this online application form, providing us with your contact information, volunteer interests, and certifications.

For payment by cheque follow this link to download the paper application form. Please continue to activate your membership by mailing the completed application form and a cheque along with your full name, mailing address, and email address to: GHTC Membership, PO Box 1, Guelph ON N1H 6J6

For payment by etransfer, please transfer payment to sales@guelphhiking.com. Please enter the member's name and invoice # in etransfer message. No security question is required. Membership activation could take a couple of days.

Once registration and payment is complete you will receive an email with login and password information.

5-Year Membership - $100.00 (CAD) Subscription period: 5 years No automatically recurring payments We want to celebrate your long-term commitment to the Club by rewarding you with a Membership Fee Discount (get 5 years for the price of 4)! The main contact (individual or family) will receive email notifications of upcoming renewal dates. However, you can have up two email addresses! An additional address (be it yours or another family member's) will also receive the GHTC Communications that you choose. You will receive email notifications of renewal dates. And, you can customize your preferences to set the type and frequency of GHTC Communications that you want to receive.

Membership & Handbook Bundle - $45.00 (CAD) Subscription period: Unlimited Buy a membership to the club to support the maintenance of over 90 km of trails and get a GHTC Handbook full of maps and tips to help you explore and enjoy the trails.
