Some GHTC trails are closed at landowner's request for hunting in the fall months.
The Section 2 of the Speed River trail (Puslinch Sideroad 10 to Rd 124) is closed to hiking as marked by red Trail Closed signs from Sept. 1, 2025 to Jan. 20, 2026. It is also closed for public hunting. It is open for hunting only to members of the Vimy Ridge Hunt Club.
RLT Section 3 between 1st & 2nd Line Nassagaweya will be closed for Deer Shotgun Hunting Season November 2–8, 2025
at the landowner’s request.
Radial Line Trail Section 4 is closed at landowner's request from Oct. 1 to Dec. 31. Hikers are encouraged to follow the "Fall Reroute" along 30 Sideroad.
Radial Line Trail Section 6
At landowner request, a portion of our trail within Section 6 of the RLT has been closed, as shown below.
The trail heading south along Sixth Line ends when it reaches Pineridge Drive, and is discontinuous at this point. Kong Hill is no longer accessible. There are no reasonable alternate paths at the moment, although we are in discussions with other nearby landowners.
Please do not try to hike on this closed portion!
The eastern half of Section 6, from the abandoned rail bed and the wooden bridges across Blue Springs Creek, over to Dublin Road, is still open for hiking. For now this is an "out-and-back" section - enter from Dublin Line, enjoy the trail, but do not proceed west beyond the abandoned rail bed! Turn around and go back along the same trail, to Dublin Line.
We hope to establish a reasonable new route for the trail in this area, and will provide updates here when that becomes available.

This year’s local shotgun seasons for deer are Sun Nov. 2 - Sat Nov 8 (Halton and South Wellington County) and Mon Dec. 8 – Sat Dec 13 (South Wellington County) for shotguns and muzzle loading guns. We recommended you avoid hiking in the woods for those dates and otherwise wear bright colours during the fall months. Other townships may have different dates. For more info Ontario hunting website.
Local bow and arrow season for deer typically runs from Oct 1 - Dec 31.
