Dear Yorklands Green Hub Members and Friends,
 
We hope your summer is going well so far! We send a great big thank you to all the people who participated in the City of Guelph “Have Your Say” about the Ontario Reformatory site. This data is being gathered for the Heritage Conservation District (HCD) Study and will be used to support an actual HCD Plan. We hope this research will lead to a Part V designation. The province can then move ahead with the sale of the property. If you want to view the submissions, please go to this link.
 
In the meantime, we have exciting news to share. The money we received from the Ontario Trillium Fund Grant has resulted in the hiring of two staff members for a one-year term. We feel very fortunate to have hired Bernadette Wycks as our Development Manager & Fundraising Strategist and Kerry-Lynn Wilkie as our Volunteer Policy & Program Strategist. Their bios will be added to our website shortly. 
 
We are now in the last 3 weeks of our Walkathon 2022. Enter to win an amazing prize. Take a walk at the Yorklands and help us raise the money needed for our programming and events. This event is being sponsored by the Stone Store, Guelph Hiking Trail Club, Royal City Brewery, and Polycon Industries. In July on Sundays at 1 pm we are running a Historical Walking Series on the Ontario Reformatory. Except the last Sunday of the month when we will be handing out prizes for the Walkathon.
