Hike description:The route follows the perimeter of Belwood Lake.The trail is a challenging, multi-surface loop spanning roughly 19 km that circles the reservoir and surrounding terrain. There is approximately a 450m elevation gain making it a solid workout for experienced hikers. The path crosses the historicShand Dam built in 1942, features views of the reservoir, and passes near the village of Belwood. 

Pace: 4-5 km/hr – approximately 19kms, 5hrs. Note: this is a fast paced and long distance with ~450m of elevation gain.

Parking:  Maple Park, 37 Queen St, Belwood, ON43.7912° N, 80.3220° W

Required: hiking shoes, water, dress for the weather, rain gear, I.D

Recommended: snacks, bug spray

No dogs please.
