North end walkabout
Meet 9:30 am by the the Carousel in the end of Marilyn Drive in Riverside Park.
We are going to explore the many new and not so new sights/happenings in the North end of the city.
First we will check the progress of the Speedvale Ave bridge reconstruction, supposed to be finished next year. Then we pass over the year old Emma Street walking bridge over Speed River. Next we walk on the multi use trail/G2G trail to Goldie Mill. On the way back we follow the Rapid Side Trail,, which connects us back to the new multiuse trail through the Woodlawn Cemetery. We explore next Taylor's Meadow green burial site, inaugurated year ago.
After walking through the cemetery, we go back to Riverside Park or for coffee/lunch in the popular Uptown Grill.
Moderate speed, level 2 (mostly pavement, except for Rapid's ST which has some difficult footing, where poles would be helpful).
