Speed River Trail End-to-End - A 50th Anniversary Event!

Bus (school bus) registration now open to GHTC members (no cost) and non-members($10).

Members and Non-members must also register if they wish to provide their own transportation to trailhead at Blackbridge Rd. Cambridge. Hiker will be responsible for their transportation back to Blackbridge Rd to pick up vehicles left there.

Masks must be worn at start of hike and on bus. A distance of 2 metres must be kept between non related hikers and masks MUST be worn where this is not possible.

Initially only 35 bus seats will be sold but this number may increase closer to hike date.

As part of GHTC’s celebration of 50 years, hikers will have the opportunity to participate in hikes that cover the complete Speed River Trail and Radial Line Trail as well as GHTC’s section of the Kissingbridge Trail.

The first hike will be an End to End of the Speed River Trail Sat. April 30. Hikers will meet in the Guelph Covered Bridge parking lot by 9:30am where they will board a bus (free to GHTC members and $10 for Non-members) at 9:45 to shuttle them to trailhead at Blackbridge Rd. Cambridge. Alternately hikers may use their own transportation to get to trailhead but must still register for hike. Those driving to trailhead should be there by 9:50am.

GHTC hike leaders will lead a fast group and moderate speed group back 16km to Guelph Covered Bridge. There will be one dropout location about 10km into hike. Those completing this E2Eb may use it toward GHTC E2E badge. 

Expect mud here and there, but lots of boardwalk improvements have been made over the years. Bring waterproof boots and a lunch, water and snacks. 15 km, Level 2, Pace Moderate.
