Time: 9:30 am - approximately 12:30 pm
Limit: 15 hikers
Trailhead: Bruce Trail’s Pear Tree parking lot
7808 15 Side Rd., Acton (Hwy. 25 & 15th SR)
Starting at the Bruce Trail’s Pear Tree parking lot on the south side of 15th Sideroad, about 300m west of Hwy. 25, you’ll find several lovely plaques recognizing Bruce Trail donors. We’ll follow the Bruce Trail blazes through forests, wetlands, ponds and deep moss covered fissures. There is minimal elevation gain or loss and it is a very peaceful trail. It is a challenging route, with uneven and rocky terrain with roots to also navigate. Careful foot placing is required to pick your way along the route and keeping your mind on this interesting trail at all times is a good idea, especially to prevent tripping. There is an incredible view of Milton on the ridgetop trail and we might even see soaring bald eagles. We’ll also be walking on the Hilton Falls and Al Shaw Side Trails.
