Crawford Lake to Rattlesnake Point Conservation Park loop hike
When: August 10 2024, 8:30am – 2:30pm
Location: Galaxy parking lot in south end of Guelph. Address: 85 Clair Rd E, Guelph
Meet by 8:20am at south end Galaxy parking lot to carpool to the trail head at Crawford lake Conservation Park.
We will start our hike by walking along the board walk surrounding the Crawford Lake, and take the Bruce Trail and Nassagaweya Canyon Trail to Rattlesnake Conservation Park, then hike back to Crawford Lake with a different path after a short break at the Rattlesnake Park. There are a few lookout places on the top of the cliffs where you can enjoy the stunning views over the escarpment.
Length: approximately 16kms
Pace: 4km / hr
Terrain: moderate – some hills
Hiking time: 4-5 hours
There are some rocky sections along the way and a few steep hills. Please wear hiking shoes and bring at least 2L of water, snacks, lunch, bug spray and sun screen.
Parking fee at Crawford lake conservation park is $10.50 and should be shared by carpooling parties.
