BT Toronto E2E – Day 1: Kelso to Speyside, 13 km
About the hike: Join Joanna on this series of hikes through the Toronto section of the Bruce Trail. This is a series of 4 hikes for an End-to-End (E2E). Whether your goal is to hike Bruce Trail, earn the badge of Toronto section, enjoy the summer/fall hikes, have fun and socialize – you are welcome to come for all or just few of those hikes. The Toronto section (about 50 km) of the Bruce Trail is beautiful. We will walk a little more than 50 km as we will start before the Toronto section boundary and at the end pass the end boundary. Along our trek we will walk on high bridge over the quarry, go through the Hole in the Wall, pass through Silver Creek and Terra Cotta Conservation areas and finally see the Cheltenham Badlands. For those whose goal is to earn a badge we will create a log. We can either do it as group for those interested, or each of you can do it themselves. You do have to walk the full length of Toronto section to receive the badge. But if you are not able to join us on one of the hikes, you can finish it on your own.
Day 1 - Kelso to Speyside: We will start our hike at Kelso parking lot. We will cross the boundary between Iroquia/Toronto sections and continue along the escarpement with great views. We will pass over the Dufferin Quarry Bridge and finish just after Speyside.
