Carpool Option:
Please notify the hike leader if you will be joining the carpool.  If no one  notifies the leader, there will be no carpool.

If you want to join the carpool and have notified the leader, meet at the Carpool Lot Hwy 401 exit 299 Morriston Queen St/Brock Rd S (Hwy 6) at 8:10 AM for an 8:15 AM departure to the trailhead.  

Meet at the trailhead:

Hike Description:
The hike will start at 9:00. We'll walk Hidden Valley Rd., under Hwy. 403 to reach community trails and eventually connect with the Bruce Trail on our way to Smokey Hollow Falls.  These trails follow Grindstone Creek. Several steep climbs on dirt paths. Rocks and roots, rocky outcrops on the Bruce Trail.  Spend 15 minutes at the Falls before heading back.  A good level of fitness is required.

Length: 9 Km. Pace: 3.5 Km/hour.  Terrain: 2+.  Hiking Time: 2.5 hours.

What to Bring:
Snacks, 1.5 L. of water, bug repellant, sunscreen, rain gear, first aid kit, health card. Hiking boots required. Hiking poles helpful but optional.

This hike is a redo of the hike scheduled for last Tuesday. That hike was cancelled because of forecasted rain in the area of the hike. Much of the trail is on a slope where the soil is clay based and becomes very slick under a little rain.

Cross your fingers in hope that August 26th will be a dry day.
