Wed morning hike - Sandy Hills Regional Forest

 When:  Wednesday 27 August.  Note earlier time: 9:00 am-11:30.

Where:  Meet at 9:00 for carpooling in parking lot in front of Galaxy Cinema (485 Woodlawn).  Please email me if you plan to go directly to trailhead for a 9:35 start.  Trailhead parking is very limited.

What:  Sandy Hills is a lovely pine & mixed hardwood forest consisting of 2 loops (we will do both loops).  Except for a short roadway stretch hike is under tree cover.  Footing is mostly flat with some long but gentle rises on packed sand/pine needle trails.  Sandy Hills is home to 2 significant ferns:  the Male fern and the rare Braun's Holly fern.

Pace: Easy. Length around 5 k.  Bring water.  Bug spray & poles your choice.

Lunch option at Bonnie Lou's Cafe 5 minutes away in Floradale (2238 Floradale Rd).  Please email me before Wednesday if you wish to do lunch so I can make reservations.
