Details: Our hike will start from the Hilton Falls Conservation Area parking lot. We will proceed to the Philip Gosling Side Trail (named for one of the founding pioneers and first Trail Director of the Bruce Trail) and then hike the mail Bruce Trail along the edge of the Niagara Escarpment. This is the start of the Kythera Hiking – Bruce Trail Friendship Trail. It’s one of 9 international friendship trails that have joined up with the Bruce Trail to celebrate this great form of exercise! Kythera is an area in Greece. This route takes us to the Dufferin Gap – the only break in the entire 725k long, 450-million-year-old Niagara Escarpment. This 40m-long gap is now spanned by a bridge that was built in 1991 and funded by a combination of corporate, private and public funds. We will have a break at the viewing area of the Dufferin Quarry. Our hike continues through beautiful forests where we can view large moss-covered crevices and enjoy incredible views of Milton from the ridgetop trail.
