Section 3 of Speed River Trail
June 10th hike
Meet: 9 am (time change) at trail head on County Rd. 32. Parking is on the side of the road just after the bridge, over Speed.
This is a most beautiful trail at this time of the year. There are lovely river views, lush vegetation and tall ferns; and most of the early summer flowers are blooming. Meadows full of anemones, buttercups, ladies rockets (flax) and close to the river an abundance of yellow irises. There are meadows between plenty of mix forests, and cedar woods to give us a little welcome shade.
There are still muddy spots, even if Bill Mungall's crew fixed the worst ones couple of weeks ago, so hiking boots are a good idea for this hike.
Remember bugs spray, poles optional.
Speed moderate - level 1 - about 2 hrs.
